Ben Hartman | Executive Vice President

Ben Hartman joined Jamestown Associates as the firm’s Executive Vice President after successfully managing Governor Matt Bevin’s 2015 campaign in Kentucky. With Ben’s help, Governor Bevin became only the second Republican to hold that office in 44 years, and Bevin’s running mate Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton became the first-ever African American to win a statewide election in Kentucky.

Since joining Jamestown, Ben has served as consultant for several high-profile clients, including philanthropist businessman Foster Friess, and former Vi-Jon CEO John Brunner. In 2018, Ben helped to guide Connecticut businessman Bob Stefanowski to victory in a crowded, competitive Republican primary race for Governor through petition – the first time any Connecticut gubernatorial candidate has achieved that goal.

In 2018, Ben also steered newly elected Congressman Michael Cloud to primary, runoff, special election, and general election victories – totaling four successful campaigns in a single year. With Ben’s help, Congressman Cloud won a 9-way special election outright with 55% of the vote, turning out a higher percentage of Republican voters in that district than in the 2016 presidential election less than two years prior.

In 2016, Ben worked with the independent expenditure effort that helped flip the Kentucky House of Representatives from Democrat control to Republican control for the first time since 1921.

Before coming to Jamestown, Ben gained experience as the campaign manager for Texas Congressman Randy Weber – who replaced retiring Congressman Ron Paul – as well as U.S. Senate candidate Milton Wolf in Kansas. Ben also worked as a field operative for Congressmen Michael McCaul and Bill Flores in Texas, and managed the Victory Operation of the Connecticut Republican Party.

Ben Hartman is a veteran of the United States Navy. A native of Houston, Texas, he now lives in Austin.
